|ARTH 464 001||Seminar||1||Thu||14:00||17:00|
The seminar continues a study on the work of Enokura Koji. It will read in three main areas: the historiography of modern art in Japan; modernist aesthetics (in particular, phenomenology); and select issues in post-1945 art in Japan and abroad.
It is suggested students enrol in this course after taking upper-level coursework in ARTH (preferably, a Japan-related lecture course such as ARTH 362, 363, 368, or 369; or the Art History methodology course, ARTH 300), but this is not required.
