GERM 510. Literary History and Material Knowledge:
Paper. Machines. Ruins. Rocks. Under these four headings, this course will engage with literary studies and theories of materiality. Readings from Marxist criticism, history of the book, media archeology, ecocriticism and thing theory, with particular attention to developments in modern German literary culture. Students from Arts and other faculties welcome.
