Topic: Eighteenth-century Counterpoint. Beginning with the composition of short, highly controlled exercises, the course will proceed through canon, chorale preludes, trio sonatas, and inventions to the study of fugue. Models will be analyzed as a basis for creative work by students. Music 200 and 220 are prerequisite to this course. With MUSC 414.
