Priority will be given to BFA Design and Production majors who have successfully completed Theatre 250. Students must also enrol in the mandatory studio section, THTR 350, S11. If this section if FULL or BLOCKED please sign up for the corresponding wait list section - THTR 350, Section WL1. Once you have registered in the wait list there is no need to contact the Department. Your registration will be switched to the parent section when space becomes available. Preference may be given to Majors, Minors, or Honours students in Theatre or Film. The THTR 350 course offered this fall will have an exclusive concentration on rigging. Topics covered will include:· Arena rigging with truss and motors· Loading and operating counterweight systems in theatres· Safety factors and calculations· Hardware and equipment used in rigging· Bridle length and angle calculations· Loading calculations· Reading rigging plots and engineers drawingsThe course will be structured around a 1.5 hour lecture in FRWO 112, followed by a 1.5 hour practical "studio" session on the Frederic Wood Theatre stage (FRWO 102).
