-  Only students outside of the Greater Vancouver area are allowed to enrol in this Distance Ed section. Local students should register for ATSC 113.971. Please visit https://www.eoas.ubc.ca/courses/atsc113/ for further details. This course will use Proctorio (an online remote proctoring service) for invigilation of the final exam for ONLY those Distance Education students who are unable to write the exam on the UBC-Vancouver campus in June. All other Distance Education students will write the normal paper exam on campus as scheduled in June with students from the other section(s) of this course. Proctorio will record your webcam, computer screen, or other actions during the exam session and share that information with your instructor. The recorded information meets British Columbia's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. In order to use Proctorio, you are required to have access to a regular computer (Windows/Mac desktop or laptop). You cannot take the exams from mobile devices (e.g., iPhone, iPad, Android device, tablet, etc). You need a working webcam and microphone and you will need to install both the Google Chrome web browser & Proctorios Chrome extension. This course will use Proctorio, an online remote invigilating tool for the Final Exam. Proctorio will record your webcam, your computer screen, or other actions during the exam and share that information with your instructor and the teaching assistants. The recorded information meets British Columbia's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. In order to use Proctorio you are required to have access to, a regular computer (Windows/Mac computer or laptop). You cannot take the assessments from mobile devices (e.g., iPhone, iPad, Android device, etc).You need a working, high quality webcam and microphone. You also must install the Google Chrome web browser & the Proctorio Extension. If you do not have the required computer hardware and robust internet connection, or if you object to the recording that Proctorio makes of you during the exam, then you should NOT register for this course.
