-  An introduction to and overview of research methods and skills that are useful for scholars in German Studies. The goal of the course is to facilitate a practical workshop in which students can learn how to successfully complete tasks that will be parts of their careers. While the methodology of the course is grounded in the academic profession, the skills underlying the various tasks (like paper-writing, presenting research, reviewing scholarship) are more widely applicable beyond higher education. We will aim to identify the skills developed in academic work that may be beneficial beyond the academy.
