Students without BC Secondary School Chemistry 12 or equivalent are required to take the UBC Chemistry Basic Skills Test. Students receiving a satisfactory score on this Test take CHEM 111. With permission of the department head, students not receiving a satisfactory score on this Test take CHEM 100. Students with credit for CHEM 100 may take CHEM 121. Students with BC Secondary School Chemistry 12 or equivalent must take CHEM 121 or CHEM 154. CHEM 100 and CHEM 111 are not open to students with credit for Chemistry 12. Students with credit for CHEM 111 or CHEM 121 may take CHEM 123, a requirement for many Science programs. The following courses are for students in the Faculty of Applied Science: CHEM 154, CHEM 250, CHEM 251, CHEM 260. The Department lists courses that comprise the individual lecture and laboratory components for courses that contain both. The course equivalencies are: " CHEM 111 (4) = CHEM 110 (3) and CHEM 115 (1) " CHEM 121 (4) = CHEM 120 (3) and CHEM 115 (1) " CHEM 123 (4) = CHEM 130 (3) and CHEM 135 (1) " CHEM 203 (4) = CHEM 223 (3) and CHEM 225 (1) " CHEM 211 (4) = CHEM 210 (3) and CHEM 215 (1)
