MUSC 309 Instrumentation
The study of string, woodwind, brass and percussion instruments; orchestral sections and scoring for various small ensembles. Activities include demonstrations of instruments, scoring projects, analysis and listening. For credit towards the B.Mus. and the B.A. in Music; not open to other students.

309 is open to BA music majors or other students, if they have had two years of theory. Contact instructor if you have questions about your qualifications to register. Maximum class size 2020W is 45 students. To possibly fill any current or future vacancy in the class, please register the waitlist MUSC 309 1W1.
2020W Format: Every week, students study online lectures on their own time (asynchronously). Students also study course materials, including PDFs and the textbook, and complete written assignments.
