Imagining St Petersburg: Text and Cityshape - Focusing on the Russian imperial capital St Petersburg, this course will explore the citys history through its rich literary and artistic heritage. We will study the city from its 18th-century beginnings to the present through historical documents, literary texts, films, music, visual art and maps. Readings will include texts by Pushkin, Gogol, Dostoevsky, Akhmatova, and others. Taught asynchronously online.
