SPPH 200 Understanding the Sociocultural Determinants of the Health of Populations

The Interprofessional Health and Human Service (IHHS) course covers the idea of "population health," and the implementation and evaluation of programs or policies to improve health. Open to all students. Credit will be granted for only one of SPPH 200 or IHHS 200.

This introductory course focuses on the meaning, measurement and determinants of health. Class activities will include lectures, videos, community guests, fun, and a community-service learning project and a final exam. This course is intended for 1st and 2nd year students. If you are in 3rd or 4th year, it is cautioned that you do not register as you may find it too elementary.
