Finding a course

There are a range of options for finding courses. The instructions below will help you get started.

Browse courses
  1. From the browse menu, select courses
  2. Select your campus and session
  3. Scroll down the list of subject codes or filter by clicking the first letter of the subject code or title
  4. Click the subject code to view all courses offered in that subject
  5. Click on the course to view the course description, credit value, pre-requisites/co-requisites (if applicable), and sections offered
  6. Click on the section for details like start and end dates, times, location, and instructor
Search courses
  1. Select courses from the search menu
  2. Select your campus and session
  3. Enter your search terms in one or more of the search fields
  4. You can mouse over the ? for a description of the search field
  5. Click search for sections at the bottom of the screen
Browse Standard Timetables (STT)

A Standard Timetable is a pre-planned timetable that incorporates most of the courses required for a program.

  1. Select Standard Timetables from the browse menu
  2. Select your campus and session
  3. Select the appropriate degree code
  4. Select the year level and specialization (if applicable)
  5. Mouse over the STT to see a preview of the timetable
  6. Click on an STT to see the timetable sections and the details

Creating a Worklist

Worklists let you keep lists of subjects, courses, and sections to help you build a conflict-free timetable. You can create multiple worklists and use them to help you when you’re registering for courses.

Important! Creating a worklist does not register you in any courses. Read registering for a course below for instructions on registering.

  1. Log in with your CWL
  2. Select your campus and session
  3. Click new worklist in the upper right of your screen
  4. Type in the worklist name and click create new worklist
  5. The new worklist will appear below the generic Worklist 1
Saving Courses to a Worklist
  1. Choose the worklist you want to use.
  2. Find a course using the browse or search menus (above).
  3. Once you find a subject, course or section you want to add, click save to worklist at the right of your screen. Building a timetable? Save course sections to your worklist to make it easier.
  4. Keep saving courses and/or sections to your worklist. If you click the course level and hover over the course sections, the timetable preview will show how it fits into your worklist. Red denotes a conflict.
  5. Click the worklist name to review what you’ve saved.
  6. If you have saved course sections to your worklist, click view timetable to see it in a timetable format.
  7. Click view details for information on the courses and course sections contained in your worklist
Deleting Courses from a Worklist
  1. Choose a worklist
  2. Select the items you want to delete from your worklist
  3. Scroll down and click deleted selected
  4. The item(s) will be removed from your worklist
Saving a Standard Timetable to a Worklist
  1. Select the worklist for which you would like to save a Standard Timetable.
  2. Search for an STT as described above in Browse Standard Timetables.
  3. Drill down into a specific STT.
  4. Click on the "Save to Worklist" button.
  5. The STT will be saved to your worklist.

Registration

Registering for a Course

Once you are logged in and have selected the appropriate campus and session, there are 3 ways to register for a course. You will see these registration options on or after your registration date

  1. Go to any course section and click register section.
  2. or
  3. Select a worklist, check the sections you want and click register selected. To register in all the courses in your worklist, click register all.
  4. or
  5. Select add/drop courses from the registration menu. Enter the course code and course and section numbers and click register.
Dropping a Course
  1. Login and select your campus and session.
  2. Select add/drop courses from the registration menu. You will see a list of your registered courses.
  3. Select the course you would like to drop and click drop selected.
Switching Sections of a Course
  1. Login and select your campus and session.
  2. Select add/drop courses from the registration menu. You will see a list of your registered courses.
  3. Select the course you would like to switch and click switch selected section.
  4. From the list of course sections presented, select the section you would like to switch to and click switch sections.

Specializations

Declaring Your Specialization

If a specialization is required for your program/year level, you will be prompted to declare one.

  1. Login and select your campus and session.
  2. Select specialization from the browse menu to see a list of all degree programs with specializations.
  3. Select your degree program.
  4. Select your area of specialization from the subject list.
  5. Click add spec.
  6. If the specialization indicates that you must contact the department, you will not be able to declare it online. Contact your academic advising office for details.
Changing your Specialization

If you have declared a specialization and want to change it, browse through the specialization list as outlined above. Use the switch spec button to make the change.

Viewing your specialization
  1. Login and select your campus and session.
  2. Select program from the menu bar.
  3. If you have a specialization recorded, it will be displayed here.

Program

Selecting and switching your program
  1. Login and select your campus and session.
  2. If you are eligible for more than one program you will be prompted to select eligibility.
  3. Select program from the menu bar. You will be presented with a list of eligible programs for that session.
  4. Select the appropriate program and then click select program for registration.
  5. If you are already registered in a program and would like to switch to another program for which you have eligibility, select the appropriate program and click switch program.
