Automatic Control

Process and system characteristics; transient response; the closed loop; block diagrams and transfer functions; control actions; stability; Nyquist diagrams; Bode diagrams; root locus methods; frequency response; system compensation; nonlinear control systems; digital computer control. Laboratory experiments to support the lecture content. Recommended prerequisite: MECH_V 463. Credit cannot be obtained for both MECH_V 466 and MECH_V 467. [3-2*-0] Prerequisite: Either (a) all of MECH_V 220, MECH_V 221 or (b) MATH_V 255 and one of ELEC_V 201, ELEC_V 202, ELEC_V 204.
