MATH_O 428 - Functional Analysis

Banach spaces, linear operators, bounded and compact operators, strong, weak, and weak* topology. Hahn-Banach, open mapping, and closed graph theorems. Hilbert spaces, symmetric and self-adjoint operators, spectral theory for bounded operators. Credit will be granted for only one of MATH 428 or MATH 528. [3-0-0] Prerequisite: MATH 327.
